DORMVAULT TERMS AND CONDITIONS
These general terms and conditions ("Terms") are entered into by and between you ("Customer") and DormVault LLC ("DormVault," "we," or "us"). The following Terms, together with any documents they expressly incorporate by reference, govern your access to and use of DormVault’s services ("Services"), including any content, functionality, and services provided through www.dormvaultstorage.com (the "Website").
PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY BEFORE REGISTERING FOR OR PURCHASING OUR SERVICES. BY USING THE WEBSITE OR CLICKING TO ACCEPT THESE TERMS, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THEM. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, DO NOT REGISTER OR PURCHASE OUR SERVICES.
DormVault reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. Your continued use of the Website following any revisions constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
1. SERVICE DESCRIPTION
DormVault provides college students with summer storage services, which include:
• Use of DormVault-provided plastic storage bins for packing and storage.
• Delivery of DormVault plastic bins.
• Pickup of personal belongings at designated university locations.
• Secure storage of items for a specified period.
• Delivery of stored belongings to designated locations at the start of the semester.
DormVault does not currently offer shipping services.
2. REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT
• A $50 reservation deposit is required to secure storage services. This deposit is credited toward the Customer’s total storage invoice.
• The total storage invoice must be paid in full by August 1.
• Failure to pay by the due date may result in late fees, delayed deliveries, or forfeiture of storage.
• Payments must be made via credit or debit card through the DormVault website. We do not accept cash or checks.
3. PICKUP AND DELIVERY
Complimentary Move-In and Move-Out Dates
• Customers receive two (2) complimentary move-in dates and two (2) complimentary move-out dates.
• These designated dates are provided at no additional charge and will be announced prior to each storage season.
• If a Customer requires a pickup or delivery outside of these complimentary windows, a $99 special move fee will apply.
Failure to be Present for Pickup or Delivery
• If a Customer is not present at the scheduled time and location, they forfeit their scheduled appointment. If they desire to reschedule, it will be a $99 rescheduling fee.
4. STORAGE POLICIES
Plastic Bin Usage and Return Policy
• DormVault provides plastic storage bins for Customers to use during the storage period.
• Customers must return all bins at the end of the storage term.
• If a Customer fails to return a DormVault plastic bin, a $50 fine will be charged to the card on file for each missing bin.
Restricted Items
The following items may not be stored with DormVault:
• Perishable food and liquids
• Hazardous materials (e.g., chemicals, explosives, flammable items)
• Weapons or firearms
• Valuable items such as cash, jewelry, and important documents (DormVault is not liable for loss or damage to such items.)
5. LIABILITY AND INSURANCE
• DormVault will take reasonable care in handling and storing items but is not liable for damage due to improper packing by the Customer.
• Customers may be required to sign a liability waiver at the time of pickup.
• DormVault has taken the extra precaution of securing a climate-controlled storage facility. We therefore are not responsible for items damaged due to external conditions such as humidity or temperature changes.
6. FAILURE TO PAY
• Payment is due within 15 days of your spring pickup date. There will be a 10% late penalty added to your account, every month that you do not pay the balance.
• If payment is not received by August 1, DormVault reserves the right charge the card on file until payment is made in full including all late penalties.
7. CANCELLATION POLICY
• If Customers agree to purchase our Reservation Deposit product, they hereby agree that the $50 deposit is non-refundable.
8. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
• In the event of a dispute, Customers agree to attempt to resolve the matter directly with DormVault.
• If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes may be subject to arbitration rather than litigation.
